Congressman Waxman sneaks anti-vitamin amendment into Wall Street reform bill

Health freedom alert: Congressman Waxman sneaks anti-vitamin amendment into Wall Street reform bill

Adapted from an article from NaturalNews by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Of all the sneaky tactics practiced in Washington D.C., this recent action by Congressman Henry Waxman (D-Los Angeles) is one of the most insidious: while no one was looking, he injected amendment language into the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) that would expand the powers of the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) (not the FDA, but the FTC) to make its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.  This will result in an FTC war on vitamins and supplements.

Waxman wants the FTC to control your access to vitamins

This legislation will allow the FTC to circumvent the Dietary Supplement Health Education Act (DSHEA) – the law passed in 1994 that provides basic protections to vitamin and supplement manufacturers.
Congress passed DSHEA in 1994 as a result of Waxman’s failed attempt to give the FDA control of your access to vitamins and supplements in the early 90’s.  A torrent of calls and letters from an aroused public stopped him then, and now he is at it again, this time trying to use the FTC to take away your freedom to have the supplements of your choice.

Please call and write Congressman Waxman, protesting this attempt to take away our health freedom and demanding that Waxman remove from the bill all of the language having to do with vitamins and supplements.
