Cancer Prevention - Tips To Stay Cancer-Free

How To Stop Cancer
Although there's no certain way to prevent all types of cancer, you can take easy steps to help reduce your chances of getting it. By understanding the underlying causes of cancer and what you can do to correct those causes, you'll be more able to take effective action against cancer.

Surviving Cancer

It's been said that we all get cancer at least 6 times in our lives, though it almost always goes away on its own.Less than 10% of all tumors found end up being cancerous tumors and of those that are cancerous, a smaller percentage ends up being malignant. Why are so many people dying of cancer rather than surviving cancer?  Not having all the facts before resorting to chemo and radiation is one of the problems. If you are diagnosed with cancer, don't rush into any treatments before doing research and getting educated about the disease. Read all you can then, and only then, should you make your well-researched decision to opt for chemo and radiation or pursue natural cancer cures.

Fear Of Cancer

For those of you reading this blog post who haven't been diagnosed with cancer but want to take cancer prevention steps, the first place to start is with your fear of cancer. Truthfully, cancer gets big press, so who isn't afraid of it these days?  You hear about Patrick Swayze dying of pancreatic cancer, Michael Douglas fighting throat cancer, and Aretha Franklin is now said to have pancreatic cancer. These people are big name celebrities and when we hear that they have cancer it makes us think we're next.

Cancer The Leading Cause Of Death?

That's not the case. In fact, over 100,000 more people die from heart disease than cancer. So, heart disease is actually the number one killer of Americans. That's something preventable and easy enough to take care of if you follow a healthy lifestyle.  Sure, we hear about heart disease, but there's more money to be made with cancer and all its treatments.

Cancer and Diet

It's estimated that about 1/3 of all cancer deaths are related to a bad diet. There are so many natural foods, spices, and herbs that can help prevent cancer.  In fact, there are 10 Superfoods that can help ward off a long list of diseases and health problems.  Add some of these foods to your meals every day and you'll feel better, think more clearly, have more energy, and may stay cancer-free for life. You don't have to follow a healthy diet every day, but if you eat very healthy 6 days a week then you can splurge 1 day a week and eat whatever you'd like. This way you're more likely to stick with a healthy eating plan.

High Fiber Diet Plans

Research has shown for years that high fiber diet plans can protect you against cancer, especially colon cancer prevention. Fiber is considered "nature's broom" and helps to detox the body, acts as a colon cleanse, and aids digestion.  Add beans, high fiber vegetables, and oats to your daily meals and you'll be going a long way to help prevent cancer.

Environmental Toxins

Toxins and Pollutants are brought into our homes day-after-day through water, food, dirt, dust and household cleaning products. It's important to educate yourself and cut down your risk and exposure. Make your own green cleaning supplies, buy a good water purifier, use a vacuum with a good hepa filter. Going green can do a lot for your health, the environment, and can also save you money.

Exercise Daily

Besides following a healthy diet, exercise is the next best way to prevent cancer. Most people lead a sedentary lifestyle which causes your entire body to operate at a lower level. Your lymph glands back up, oxygen is reduced, your circulation is more sluggish. It's easy to feel the effects of sitting on your butt all day long. You feel more tired, you're depressed and/or irritable, your body aches, and you don't have much incentive to do anything but sleep or sit some more. If you can get just 15 minutes of exercise a day you'll notice the difference in your mood and energy level after the very first time! Find something you like doing and change things up so you don't get bored.

Cancer Causes

Other causes of cancer can be smoking, drinking, drug use, and too much sun exposure. Plain and simple, avoid these things and it can help your goals in preventing cancer.

Looking at the above cancer prevention tips, does it really seem that hard to avoid getting something that may potentially kill you?  Eating more Superoods, adding more fiber to your diet, getting regular exercise, drinking filtered water, and using organic cleaners are a few ways you can protect your health and could stay cancer-free.

Prostate Cancer - 3 Tips To Prevent It

In the United States alone tens of thousands of men die from prostrate cancer yearly.  I feel that it's completely unnecessary for anyone to die of cancer since there are many natural cancer cures, but let's take a look at how to prevent prostate cancer.

It's extremely rare for men under the age of 50 to have prostate cancer, though when it happens this is usually due to abnormal genes inherited from your family. For reasons we aren't sure of at this time, DNA can be abnormal at birth or become abnormal, resulting in various types of cancer, though this isn't common.

Tips To Prevent Prostate Cancer

1. Stop Smoking - One of the most important steps you can take to help prevent cancer, prostrate or otherwise, is to do your best to have a healthy lifestyle. If you smoke, one of the best lifestyle changes you can make is to stop. Recent studies have not found a direct link from smoking to prostrate cancer; but it is believed that it can have adverse affects on DNA and could cause malignant cancer growths causing it to spread more rapidly through the prostrate and into other parts of the body. (Journal of Urology (Vol. 169: 512-516).

Not only can smoking speed up the spread of cancer cells throughout your body, but it also causes major damage to your entire respiratory system. This can lead to problems with your immune system, which is a huge contributor for preventing any disease.  If your immune system is compromised you're more vulnerable to disease and cancer.

2. Eat Healthy - Other studies have shown that a healthy diet can also decrease the odds of the early onset of prostate cancer. Diets which are high in fiber and organic fruits and vegetables provide your body with the vitamins it needs to remain strong and healthy. It keeps your immune system up, which is your first defense to disease. Following a raw food diet can increase your healthy and vitality while helping to prevent cancer. Even if you've already been diagnosed with cancer, a raw food diet can help!

3. Get Exercise - A sedentary lifestyle not only leads to weight gain, muscle atrophy, and heart problems, but it lowers your immune system. You don't have to get crazy about exercise, but get some each and every day so that your body is taking in and processing oxygen. Every cell in your body needs oxygen to stay strong and healthy (along with proper nutrition) and it's one of the fastest ways to boost your immune system. So not only will you help your prostrate, but you'll lower the odds of contracting other life-threatening diseases.

Although prostrate cancer can be a life threatening disease it doesn't have to be. With positive lifestyle changes the chances of you getting or dying of prostrate cancer are small.
