3 Things to Avoid That Cause Lung Cancer

By John Roney

There are many symptoms to be aware of with early lung cancer. As with any cancer, early detection is critical. The earlier you are able to find out about a cancer in your body, the more types of treatments will be available and the greater the chances are of defeating the cancer. A cancer in the body is simply abnormal cell growth, mutated cell growth if you will.

With some other types of cancer there are sometimes options for operations involving the removal of certain organs or other parts of the body... however, that is a very difficult thing with lung cancer because lungs are not easily removed from the body, though it is possible. Usually if there is a cancer or other disease affecting one lung, it will be the same for the other as well. This dilemma poses significant problems to trying to remove one of the lungs.

Cigarette smoke is a leading cause of lung cancer to be sure. Did you know that insurance companies will not even cover someone for life insurance who smokes? It is an immediate rejection policy for most life insurance underwriters. If you smoke, you are effectively lowering your life expectancy every day.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer, try to follow all of the recommendations given by your medical provider. Eat as healthy as you possibly can. Eat also as many green vegetables as you can. This will help give your body all the resources possible for beating the cancer that is in your system. Battling cancer is not an easy thing, however, and requires a lot of additional work. Do not give up. There have been so many people that have had cancer and won. They have gone on to live and additional 20 years beyond the date of diagnosis.

After asbestos exposure and inhalation, a human body will typically contract a preliminary condition named asbestosis, which is the precursor to the deadly lung cancer known as mesothelioma. These are very serious health concerns and if you suspect that you might have been exposed to asbestos at some point, it might be very wise to visit a doctor and have an x-ray completed on your chest cavity. It is easy for an experienced doctor to tell so it should be a pretty standard check up for you, and very good for your long-term health. Remember, early detection is key to beating almost any form of cancer. Make sure you have yourself checked out if you feel like there is even a slight chance of something not being right.
