Mesothelioma Symptoms, Signs To Notice

By Tom Addison

Below you will find the mesothelioma symptoms that you should watch for in your life. There are a few that most people will suffer from, like breathing difficulty or chest pain. While a few other signs are often not something every will suffer from, like weight loss, fever, sweats at night, and cough. All of the symptoms above are for pleural mesothelioma.

But a person who has peritoneal mesothelioma will have other signs that are not the same. Those signs will include swelling, bowel obstruction, weight loss, blood clotting problems, fluid that collects in the stomach, anemia, or a mass in the stomach.

But, overall, the diagnosis of this problem is often one that is very difficult. That is because many of the warnings above can also point to other conditions that include many types of cancer, as well as lung cancer.

But when you first head to the doctor and tell them you are suffering from signs like above, they will do a full examination. They are also going to ask about past medical problems, and talk about if you've been around asbestos in the past.

Though there is no help when it comes to early detection for the disease, there are several tests that you should have done that can help to finding it sooner. Many times a physician will run CT scans, MRIs and chest x-rays. All three will help in finding a mass that could be building up in your lungs. Each will offer a more detailed look into your lungs, and with those different methods it can help in finding out what your medical situation may be.

Another test that may be completed is a piece of tissue or some fluid will be removed from the location of a tumor in your body. With all of these tests a doctor will be able to let you know if your mesothelioma symptoms are something that needs more looking into.
